Any tourism attraction within the Highland Lakes region of the Texas Hill Country shall be entitled to a free listing. Free Listings are strictly text, which includes the business name, address, contact information, hours of operations, and a description of the business (maximum of 256 Characters).   We do not provide links to websites or e-mail addresses within our Free Listings.

Paid Advertisements:

The pricing of paid advertisements listed below is based on customer providing a verifiable, reciprocal link back to the www.lakesandhills.com website. If a reciprocal link is not posted on a customer website within 30 days from the commencement date of the advertising agreement, a 10% surcharge shall be added to your billing until such time as a link is posted and verified.

Featured Listing:

Any qualified tourism attraction with a Free Listing is entitled to upgrade that listing to a Featured Listing. Featured Listings include the business name, address, contact information, hours of operations, a description of the business (maximum of 256 characters) and a link to the advertiser’s website.

Any qualified tourism attraction with a Free Listing is entitled to upgrade that listing to a Graphic/Display Ad (size, shape and resolution restrictions apply). You can provide a camera ready ad (see ad specifications) or we can provide, at no charge, our basic Display Ad which includes the business name, address, contact information, hours of operations, a description of the business (maximum of 256 characters), a 150X100 pixel image and a link to your website.   Another option is a Graphical Display Ad, which includes your basic contact information, tag line and a grapic advertisement, 600X180 pixels maximum.    These ads are designed to insure your business stands out in the directory from all of the free and featured listings on that page.

For non-tourism related businesses within the Highland Lakes and Texas Hill Country and for qualified tourism attractions within the region who wish to advertise on other directory pages where they are not entitled to free listings, we offer various Display Advertising opportunities.   Sidebar Ads run vertically down the sides of the page and measure 150X180 pixels in size.

Each sidebar ad is linked to a referring page which transfers the visitor to your business website.  This invisible client page provides a count of the number of click-throughs, providing a measurement of the effectiveness of your advertising.

Coupons:

Only advertisers who have purchased a Display/Graphic or Sidebar Ad are eligible for the "coupon" offering.

A special "Coupon" page has been established which will allow existing customers to advertise their business with a printable "virtual" coupon. Space will be provided to display the businesses’ graphic logo, and the coupon will be displayed in a standard frame for all advertisers. The price for each coupon includes up to four edits or coupon replacements per year.

Each coupon is linked to a Printable Coupon page, with an enlarged copy of the graphical coupon.  The coupon page provides a count of the number of visitors, providing a measurement of the effectiveness of your advertising.

Your Business Web Page(s):

For advertisers who do not have a website we offer a web page (or multiple pages)  within lakesandhills.com and will link your ads to that landing page.  There is a per page design charge for creating the page using an existing logo provided by you in digital form, up to 5 photographs provided by you in digital form and up to 800 words of textual content provided by you in digital form.  If needed we will create a logo for you, scan photographs or input text from a non-digital form at a rate of $75/hr in addition to the per page charge.  

Web page(s) within lakesandhills.com require payment of a monthly hosting fee to cover the cost of storage and bandwidth usage on our system.  It is a flat fee per month regardless of the number of pages.

Attraction Page:

Some businesses or locations may offer such a UNIQUE activity, extensive menu of activities or sightseeing opportunity that it would be considered by Lakes and Hills Publishing (at our sole discretion) to qualify for an "Attraction Page".   This is a full page within lakesandhills.com the main content of which is dedicated to that business or location.    We would offer sidebar advertising to other businesses on that page.   Examples of some of our Attraction Pages include:

If you feel your business has a significant enough offering to qualify as a major attraction that would draw visitors to our region and you would like to purchase an attraction page, the rates for this are as follows:

Advertising Terms and Conditions:

All advertising is for a term of 12 months and will automatically renew thereafter on a month-to-month basis at the same rate unless terminated by either party after the intial 12 month period.  New agreements are subject to price increases.

A one-time set up fee of $75 is required for each new contract.  This fee includes graphic design for one layout of each ad size being ordered plus the posting of your ads on the website.  Additional layouts and other graphic work is billed at our standard rate of $75 per hour.  Fees associated with additional graphics work are due and payable at the time the work is performed.

Advertising fees are payable in advance by cash, check or credit card. Advertising may be paid for monthly by authorized, automatic debit of credit card or checking account.

All advertising, including Feature, Display, Sidebar, and Attraction Link are subject to a verifiable, reciprocal link back to www.lakesandhills.com, otherwise an additional 10% surcharge will be added to each invoice until such time as a verifiable link is posted.

Our free landing pages are directly accessible with a URL and can therefore double as a free website.  We will expand the content of a free landing page into a complete website with multiple pages and a variety of optional features.  Pricing is subject to quotation based on the extent of the site.  For a very basic site the cost is as low as $120/page to set it up and $12/month for hosting (See Web Page above).
